Festival of Reading: Becoming an exceptional oracy school

Ian Mooney, Strategic Lead on Assessments and Partnerships at the Northern Schools Trust, is committed to improving students’ oracy skills. In this session, Ian talks about their efforts to immerse students in both spoken and written language, how they’re training staff in developing oracy skills across all subjects, and some of the strategies they are using to broaden students’ vocabulary.
