New Group Maths Test

Introducing NGMT, our new digital, adaptive, termly test that measures maths attainment. Building on the popularity of our digital, adaptive New Group Reading Test (NGRT), our New Group Maths Test (NGMT) similarly gives teachers the insights they need to provide each student with the right support.

Highlights:

  • Establishes an accurate measure of current maths attainment
  • Identifies areas of relative strength and those for further development for each child
  • Is standardised using a nationally representative sample of over 10,000 learners aged 6-12 years
  • Puts meaningful information in the hands of specialist and non-specialist teachers.
The New Group Maths Test is a modern, adaptive assessment that adjusts questions based on each child's responses. If a child struggles to answer correctly, the questions become easier; if the child finds the content too simple, the questions become more challenging. This approach reduces the stress and anxiety of formal exams, providing a more targeted and supportive assessment that enhances the tool's accuracy.
