Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that the business has robust financial processes and controls. Whilst the main focus of the role with be Accounting and Control, the dynamic nature of the business, as well as the fact that it is PE owned will mean that there will be ample opportunity for the right individual to be involved in other areas and develop their career.

GL is an EdTech business who provide largely digital progress and aptitude assessments to children in both the state and private sector, both in the UK and internationally.A such, as well as being commercially successful, the business makes a tangible difference to children’s learning and development which would also be a strong attraction to a candidate with an interest in this space

Primary Duties:

  • Preparation of the statutory financial accounts including filing
  • Coordinating the annual audit including stakeholder management
  • Responsible for all company tax activities including oversight of tax declaration preparations.
  • Involvement in monthly management reporting
  • Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Payroll review including US commissions
  • Support company structure management and the roll out of new overseas partnerships
  • Support transfer pricing policies and legislative adherence
  • Cash analysis and cash flow updates

What are we looking for?

  • Strong audit and/or tax experience
  • ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA Qualified or close to qualified
  • Good communicator and relationship builder (internally and externally) with the ability to challenge the status quo
  • Analytical thinker and creative problem solver
  • Sage systems experience would be valuable but not essential

Location: Brentford, London

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000
