Crispin Chatterton

As Director of Education, Crispin leads Renaissance’s global product strategy, ensuring the company develops assessments, platforms and services that will anticipate schools’ needs and enable the business to grow over the long term. He led the introduction of a product management and product marketing function at GL Education, prior to its acquisition by Renaissance in 2023, and worked with the CTO to transform the company into a product-led, digital-first business.  

Crispin was a teacher for 14 years before joining the business, working in state and independent schools in the UK, France and Rwanda. His last teaching post was as head of languages and head of year in a comprehensive school in Sheffield, where he developed his interest in assessment, school improvement and student wellbeing.  

Crispin is a graduate of the University of Oxford, where he studied modern languages and philosophy.  He speaks French and Spanish.
