Evidence Based Education (EBE)
Professional learning for developing and implementing evidence-based assessment practice.

Assessment is inextricable from teaching, and the quality of the latter is - in many ways - dependent on the quality of information derived from the former. However, assessment is a complex specialism and much has been written about the need to develop teachers’ assessment literacy (Livingston & Hutchinson, 2017). In addition, reports such as the Carter review of initial teacher training have found teachers’ training in assessment to be ‘insufficient’.

EBE’s Assessment Academy Mission is to provide all teachers and leaders with the knowledge, skill and confidence to use assessment to enhance teaching and learning. EBE offer two courses of professional learning in the practice of assessment, one for developing an effective whole-school assessment framework and the other focused on assessment essentials for the classroom teacher.
