Hundreds of thousands of children’s wellbeing could be ‘at risk’, with boys just as vulnerable as girls, according to our analysis of data from our Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS) attitudinal survey.
According to our study of over 850,000 7 to 14-year-olds across the UK, almost a fifth of children have negative feelings towards school and struggle with issues like self-regard and their perceived capabilities as learners. These, often hidden, attitudinal issues can have a big impact on children’s wellbeing, attainment and future life chances.
Our report, Children’s Wellbeing: Pupil Attitudes to Self and School:
- Highlights the key trends from across the UK
- Provides practical ideas that schools can put into place to identify and support students who are at risk
- Explores how pupil attitudes can impact on their progress
- Identifies ways you can find the ‘invisible’ children and then build their resilience
